Future Plans

Significant continued investment is planned for the Carrick Business Campus over the next 5 years. Plans are at an advanced stage for a complete refurbishment and total energy upgrade of Phase 2 of the building. These works are estimated to be completed in Q1 2026.

State of the art Advanced Technology Facility

It is proposed to redevelop the ground floor of the atrium area into a state-of-the-art technology facility. Consideration is currently being given to the realisation of this vision. In 2024 Funding was awarded to the Leitrim Economic Growth and Capital Development DAC to carry out a feasibility study on the proposed Smart Technology Centre. This study, now complete, was supported by Enterprise Ireland under the Smart Regions (Enterprise Innovation Scheme). Based on the positive outcomes of the study, further funding is now being sought through a Priming Grant under the same scheme to help bring this innovative concept one step closer to reality.

The proposed Smart Technology Facility aims to create a dynamic hub for innovation, collaboration, and growth in the region. By offering access to cutting-edge technologies such as VR and advanced visualisation tools, alongside co-working spaces and targeted education programs, the Platform will empower businesses to experiment, upskill, and connect with national networks. With strong local interest, a built-in user base at Carrick Campus, and support from regional stakeholders, the facility will be positioned to drive economic development, attract talent, and foster a thriving technology ecosystem across the midlands and northwest.
